Memorial Day Services

At Knollwood Memorial Park, we remember our loved ones who have served our country. Over 5,000 people come through Knollwood’s gates during this holiday weekend.

Saturday, May 28, 2011
Knollwood starts the weekend by placing 450 full-size Flags along the main drive within the park. Each Flagstaff is marked with the name of an American serviceperson from this area who fell in battle. Most are buried outside the United States. It is both beautiful and touching to see this awesome display of Flags.

The Flag, in most cases, is the same Flag that the military presented to the family of the deceased veteran. These Flags are placed in the same location every year as most of our families come to remember each year.
